This website was the result of an "At-Risk Consumer and Physician Vibrio vulnificus Education" project funded by the National Sea Grant Gulf Oyster Industry Initiative. The Safe Oyster website is designed to be an educational resource for health care providers, food and health educators, consumers, fishermen and commercial processors who want to learn about and prevent Vibrio vulnificus infections.
